Mission Statement
Our mission is to enhance
the quality of life for all citizens of Marengo County, Alabama. The community
strongly supports existing business and industry, as well as the development of
new business and industry, while maintaining the integrity of our community and
preserving our historical resources.
Come
relocate to Linden, where business and industry opportunities abound. Linden
offers a relaxed style of living with a crime rate that’s below the statewide
average and has a population of 2,424. We are located approximately 100 miles
from Montgomery, the State Capitol, and 35 miles from Interstate 20/59. Linden
is accessible from four Regional Airports: Dannelly Field (Montgomery 100
miles), Tuscaloosa Regional (65 miles), Key Field (Meridian, MS 67 miles), and
Golden Triangle (Columbus, MS 97 miles). Additionally, there are two other
Public-Use Airports nearby: Demopolis
Municipal (15 miles), and Butler-Choctaw (Butler 26 miles). Linden has two major
railroad systems available for commercial shipping. The two rail systems are
Meridian & Bigbee Railroad and Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway. The two rail
systems also run through the Linden Industrial Park. There are three banks in
Linden with combined assets of over $383.6 million dollars. The weather is
pleasant year-around with average temperatures ranging from a low of 33 in
January and high of 92 in July.
