The City of Linden is looking for a Street Dept. Supervisor.

 

    The City of Linden will be taking applications for a Street Dept. Supervisor.  The job will require special skills.  Applicant will be required to work with engineers planning future projects.  Applicant will be required to read blue prints and engineers design plans.   Applicant must be able to operate the following equipment:  A tractor with batwing cutter, tractor with box blade, and must be able to operate a backhoe efficiently with joystick and wobble controls.   Must have some background knowledge of grade work using a transit or land level.  Must be able to form and pore concrete boxes for drainage ditches and culverts.  Must be able to form and finish concrete sidewalks.  Some carpentry skills would be needed.  Applicant must be willing to work in any department he is called to work in as needed.  Must have a valid drivers license.  Must be able to pass a DOT physical and acquire a CDL license within six months of employment.   Must be able to drive a truck and trailer combination.  Must be able to work with and manage employees and create work schedules planning for the days ahead.  Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Will be required to pass a drug test.  This position is a full time position offering full benefits, Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and state retirement.  The council, depending on qualifications, will set a competitive salary.
